Hot and Sour Soup

The East meets the East Coast....  I absolutely love hot and sour soup.  Not the kind that is gelatinous and weird, but a good spicy and garlicky soup is a tonic and great healthy eats.

Hot and sour soup is quick, delicious and Chinese cuisine inspired soup recipe. Dish out this appealing veg soup recipe as a starter or appetizer. Hot and sour soup is a light meal which can be eaten any time of day.

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp finely chopped ginger
  • 5 lemon grass stalks
  • ½ cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 4  mushrooms
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 4 green onions diced
  • 1 carrot finely julienned, 1" lengths
  • Salt according to taste
  • Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp. Giv'er Sauce if you dare....
 Boil 5 cups of water in a pan. Add black pepper, garlic, ginger, lemongrass and coriander. Cover the pan and cook it for 15 minutes on low flame.

Now add chilli and  mushroom, again boil it for 15 minutes.

Pour the soup in bowls. Just before serving add lemon juice

Garnish it with gren onion, coriander and carrot. Serve hot!
